How do I get to Honduras, Tela
and Honduras Shores Plantation?
Numerous International Airlines and local carriers
fly to San Pedro Sula on a daily basis. From the
San Pedro Sula International airport Tela is only
75 minutes (90 km) away by road. From La Ceiba
to Tela by road is 1-½ hours (100 km).
Rental Cars can be organized in San
Pedro Sula or La Ceiba. Bus services also run
from these towns to Tela.
Once in Tela Honduras Shores Plantation
is only a 15 minutes (6 km) drive west just past
the village of San Juan. See the map below for

What is there to see and do in
Tela?
Tela is well known for it's white sandy beaches,
its coastal Garifuna culture and communities,
the natural reserves of Punta Sal, Punto Izopo
and Lancetilla Botanical Gardens. You can swim,
snorkel, explore, hike, bird watch, horse ride
or just experience what the above areas have to
offer. Tela also has a relaxed atmosphere and
charm a variety of restaurants and bars. Additionally
a 9-hole golf course is located just outside of
town.
Tela is also centrally located which
allows you to visit the nearby attractions of
La Ceiba, San Pedro Sula and Lake Yojoa on day
trips. Further overnight trips can be taken to
the world famous Mayan Ruins of Copan or the Bay
Islands of Roatan, Utila and Guanaja.
